“I will not die an unlived life. I will not live in fear of falling or catching fire. I choose to inhabit my days, to allow my living to open me, to make me less afraid, more accessible; to loosen my heart until it becomes a wing, a torch, a promise. I choose to risk my significance, to live so that which came to me as seed goes to the next as blossom, and that which came to me as blossom, goes on as fruit.” ~Dawna Markova~

Daily Inspiration

This was shared with me in September 2011 by my friend L. Leslie whose father penned these words to her…

“Let your mirror be your harshest critic… from now on, don’t look for shoulders to cry on, provide those shoulders; don’t seek friends, family or acquaintances to understand; show them how to believe in the new you, to love, appreciate and imitate your strength, resolve, and intelligence – and do act intelligently from now on. The past is behind you, the present should define you, the future beckons with open arms – your choice (and the choice of all women – and men) is to decide to be the essential you and improve on it; not to become what others expect of you … they have their lives to live, their mistakes to make, their becoming to become … that’s their business. Your business is to be you.”
